My Little Graduate

So Tucker had his preschool graduation yesterday afternoon! It's technically the 2nd time he's graduated since he did 2 years of preschool, but it's his FINAL graduation before Kindergarten this fall and he is super excited! He's done really well this year and I think part of it is his age, but I really do think the 2 years of preschool did him a WORLD OF GOOD! He can read about 20-30 words starting kindergarten and can add/take-away fairly well with small numbers. He's just a smart boy all around and we are SO PROUD OF HIM!!!

Their graduation consists of each of the children showing the parents something that they learned throughout the year. They learned days of the week, months of the year, counting to 100 by 10's, counting to 10 in Spanish, shapes, rhyming, letter sounds, etc. At the beginning they led us in saying the Pledge of Allegience. Then they get to show us some of the fun songs they learned and act them out. It's so fun to see all of them so proud of everything they accomplished. I've been really happy with that preschool...it's just the right mix of letting the kids have fun while still being fairly academic to get them ready for kindergarten!

What a cute little "Yates look-a-like" preschool graduate! Funny to see this, because talking about Kindergarten makes me think of my first day in Kindergarten with Yates! I remember coming home telling my mom that there was this boy in my class named "yipes". Now we are the ones sending our kids to Kindergarten. Our oldest will also go to Kindergarten this next year. So weird!
