On President's Day, we decided to drag everyone out of the house and head off with some friends to let the kids get outside and play in the sand and ride around on the bikes. It ended up being a really NICE day and it wasn't long before we were all ditched our jackets. What a change from being cooped up in the house for the last couple weeks! The kids had a blast in the sand and Tucker and McKinlee LOOOOVE riding on the motorcycle with Yates. What a good dad he is!

The AWFUL sickness

The horrible, no good, awful sickness visited our family for almost 2 weeks! It started with Tucker and fevers/hives and then turned into a cold, Yates got it the worst...full on flu with an upper respiratory infection (and used his 1st sick days at work in 4 years), then poor McKinlee got a milder case of the fevers/cold. Thankfully, somehow with tending to all the sickos I managed to escape the brunt of it. I got a mild cold and am a little congested, but was saved from the fevers/chills etc. Good thing, since in "my condition" I can't take a darn thing except Tylenol. This was a common sight at our house for a week or so. Isn't Tucker adorable all hived out?!

Valentine's Day Cookies

So every year for V-Day we make a huge batch of sugar cookies and let the kids decorate them. McKinlee didn't want to decorate so much. She just wanted to eat the frosting once we'd made her a cookie. What a beautiful mess!

A Love Affair and Football??

McKinlee has had this pair of knock off Crocs since she was little. She loved wearing them so much and they were so darn cute that when she outgrew them, we just went and bought the exact same pair in the next size up. She calls them Crocs instead of shoes and everything and if she ever has a choice she ALWAYS choosed these shoes. Well, today after I put her down for her nap and took her shoes off like I always do and set them on the bookcase next to her bed. I was getting ready to lay down with Tucker (he's had a fever the last day we're trying to get to go away) and he wanted his blanket which was in his room with McKinlee. I snuck in and grabbed it and look what I found. The little angel had grabbed her shoes and put them on her hands and proceeded to fall asleep! I ran and grabbed the camera of course! Also, I tease Yates that at least he'll have one child that will be nuts for football...although I think that one child may end up to be McKinlee. She's definitely displaying a love for all things that can be thrown or kicked. Oh, the picture of her covering her mouth is from a missed catch. She got wounded! :)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

So my love of the snow has been passed on to Tucker at least. McKinlee maintains a safe distance from actually getting INTO the snow, but she loves to be outside AROUND the snow...notice the picture of her playing on the sidewalk. She would not even come step out onto the snow in her boots, even when her glove fell off and she wanted me to put it back on. We lucked out and got our first (and probably ONLY) snowfall of the year on Superbowl Sunday! We woke up to get our snow gear out and headed outside to build a snowman (who is now headless, but is almost the only snow left in our yard) and Tucker made snow angels. What fun we had!!!!

Tucker got his haircut a couple weeks ago and he HATES the hair going down the back of his neck. It gets all itchy and you can tell in the picture that he is forcing himself to smile. McKinlee on the other hand just posed and hammed it up the whole time. No hair cuts for her yet...I'm too scared of the "no more curls" problem.
